This course provides essential knowledge for anyone living with, working with, or caring for individuals with dementia. Participants will gain a fundamental understanding of dementia, including its most common forms, underlying causes, and effects on the brain. The course explores the different stages of dementia, life expectancy variations, and how dementia impacts the five senses. Learners will also develop skills to effectively support and communicate with individuals affected by dementia, recognise conditions with similar symptoms, and explore available treatment options. The course concludes with a multiple-choice exam to assess understanding.
